Student Record Forms and Instructions for School Year and Summer

At the behest of OME NY created two statewide Student Record forms to insure consistency of data collection across the MEOPs.

Summer Student Record Form

The Summer Student Record Form should be printed out from MIS 2000 at the beginning of the summer session. The forms printed in this way will have some of the information already filled out.

The forms are then distributed to the tutors to collect additional information.

The forms are returned to the MEOP's office so that the data can be put on MIS 2000.

School Year Student Record Form

NYS PASS Program

The Portable Assisted Study Sequence (PASS) Program consists of self-contained, semi-independent study courses which enable students to earn secondary-level semester credits for high school graduation. Participating students generally take these courses in order to make up credits, meet graduation requirements or cope with scheduling difficulties. The PASS courses are designed to parallel the regular academic courses offered in most schools.

Mike Reho wrote:

We have been negotiating a challenge with one of our families who werehomeless and now have a "permanent residence" through the department of social services. The school of origin has placed drop-off date for when they will not transport anymore. One of our specialists contacted Barbara Duffield (Policy Director) at the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. They have more information at http://nationalhomeless.org

Serving Undocumented Children in the Schools - Plyler v Doe

The attached PDF file is a handy reference for educators who need a review of the situation with undocumented children in the public schools.

Two other files from the NYS Education Department WWW site are also attached. The first is a ruling on an appeal that allowed children to stay in school.
