NYS PASS Program

The Portable Assisted Study Sequence (PASS) Program consists of self-contained, semi-independent study courses which enable students to earn secondary-level semester credits for high school graduation. Participating students generally take these courses in order to make up credits, meet graduation requirements or cope with scheduling difficulties. The PASS courses are designed to parallel the regular academic courses offered in most schools. Each PASS course is competency-based, thus allowing the student to progress through the activity books and accompanying tests at his or her own pace.

A memo concerning the PASS Program from the New York Education State Education Department to School District Superintendents and Principals is available here.

or in PDF format here.
